Rosendahl streamlines product processes

A new Product Information Management system has reduced process time, minimized errors, and improved workflow across Rosendahl’s product lifecycle.

The challenge

Rosendahl Design Group has experienced continuous growth, making it necessary to improve business processes from product ideation to market launch. While their teams had well-documented workflows and a shared direction, their system infrastructure did not keep pace with expansion. This led to manual data entry across multiple systems, causing inefficiencies and errors in product descriptions and updates.

Product data was enriched and refined through various Excel spreadsheets, significantly increasing time spent on manual processes while also increasing the risk of inconsistencies.

The solution

Rosendahl Design Group chose to implement a Product Information Management (PIM) system to streamline business processes and create a centralized hub for managing its product portfolio.

Our PIM specialists worked closely with teams from product development, marketing, sales, and IT to map existing workflows, identify challenges, and determine optimization opportunities.

This resulted in a conceptual design for a PIM solution that would support Rosendahl’s product lifecycle processes, marketing model, and data publishing across various channels, including web, print, and price lists.

Our goal was to have a system that could support and manage all processes related to our product lifecycle. We chose inriver PIM with Immeo as the implementation partner.

The result

Rosendahl’s primary objective was to establish a single source of truth for product data while reducing errors and manual tasks. They also needed a structured process for launching new seasonal collections twice a year.

By creating a single point of entry, they eliminated duplicate data sources and uncertainty about the latest product information. If data does not exist in inriver PIM, it is considered a work in progress and is only validated when re-entered into the system.

This has significantly reduced process time from product ideation to final pricing and publication.

Behind the solution

Rosendahl Design Group manages eight brands, handling around 3,000 product variants and launching approximately 300 new products per season. As the company has grown, the need for efficient process management has increased.

The solution is built on inriver PIM, supporting end-to-end Product Lifecycle Management from ideation to market release. The project followed MVP (Minimum Viable Product) principles, with the first phase focusing on processes from ideation to marketing before expanding to sales and service workflows.

inriver PIM is now the central platform for all product data, integrating closely with Rosendahl’s ERP system and CAD tools from Inventor. This ensures that product data is managed in one place from ideation to launch.

The pricing workflow is now automated, eliminating Excel-based calculations and enabling seamless data exchange between the pricing tool and the PIM system.

Automated workflows have replaced manual data entry, significantly reducing errors and minimizing time spent on updates and version control.

Marketing’s price list production is now integrated with inriver PIM, allowing product information to be automatically merged into InDesign templates for graphic production.

This has increased consistency and quality while improving control over pricing workflows. Once fully utilized, the solution is expected to deliver substantial time and cost savings.
